Kia – The carmaker has revealed their new corporate logo which has a minimalistic design and resembles a handwritten signature. They have also come up with a new slogan which says “Movement that inspires”. Kia will soon update their existing cars with the new logo including the Seltos and Sonet.
Volkswagen – The German carmaker revealed their production-ready concept last year ahead of the 2020 Auto Expo. They have now teased a partly revealed model on their social media pages. It will be based on the MQB A0 IN platform which is specifically designed for India. It will share the same platform with its Skoda cousin. The new Volkswagen Taigun is likely to be revealed very soon followed by the market launch.
Skoda – The Skoda Vision IN is currently being tested rigorously in India and we have seen multiple spy shots of the compact SUV doing the rounds in and around Mumbai. The production name will be revealed soon as confirmed by Skoda India boss Zac Hollis. They recently filed 5 trademarks including Karmiq, Kliq, Kosmiq, Konarq and Kushaq.
Hyundai – Hyundai introduced the Corporate Editions of Santro and Grand i10 NIOS ahead of the festive season a few months back. These editions came equipped with more features and special edition badges. Hyundai has now discontinued the Corporate Edition of both the hatchbacks.
Motor Trivia – Did you know, Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 LE comes with Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3R tyres that are specifically made for the ZL1 LE.
Comment of the day – Sandyzen – “The finalization of the product’s name seems last minute decision by the marketing team, the product could do justice to the name owing to the capability of the chassis and powertrain it will address the body-roll, power to weight ratio; but may compromise on Safari’s comfort and rear wheel drive flavor. They have to give AWD or 4X4 for the name plate. Though, I was expecting the Safari to retain body-on-frame ruggedness with take anywhere attitude and rear wheel driven config with 4X4/AWD as an option per variants and most important… a genuine Tata’s homemade product.”
