Tata Motors – The Indian automaker has delivered a fleet of 26 electric low floor buses to BrihanMumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST). The total order is for 340 electric buses that will be delivered in a phased manner. These are 25-seater Tata Ultra Urban 9/9 electric AC buses that come with WiFi hotspot and charging ports for passengers.
Toyota – Despite the continuation of illegal strike by a group of workers at Toyota’s Bidadi plant, the production has resumed. The supervisory staff and workmen have signed an undertaking and have resumed their duties. Around 1200 workers went on strike from 9th November opposing the suspension of a union office bearer.
Nissan – While the Japanese carmaker has introduced on of their most important products in India, the Nissan Kicks, they have teased the new generation Kicks in the international market. The 2021 Nissan Kicks will make its global debut on 8th December. It is one of the best selling cars for Nissan globally. However, based on a different platform, it failed to woo the Indian customers. The new gen Kicks is unlikely to be launched in the Indian market.
EV Policy – The Delhi Government recently announced their aggressive plans to promote electric mobility in the national capital under the new EV Policy. They are now setting up Delhi EV Forum for bringing all the stakeholders together to implement the policy plans smoothly. The members of this forum will include OEMs, fleet operators, charging station operators, experts and various government agencies.
