News highlights of the day include Land Rover, Tata Motors, Suzuki and Government.
Land Rover – The British SUV maker has deployed 143 vehicles including the new Defender to support organisations that are fighting against the COVID-19 crisis. The range of vehicles include 57 Defenders and some Discovery SUVs. They have supplied 105 vehicles to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
Tata Motors – The Indian carmaker has commenced online bookings of their cars. Customers can book the cars on the website. Dealerships will coordinate for finance options and further procedures. Once the whole process is completed, the car will be delivered to the customer or it can be picked up from the showroom once the lockdown is over.
Suzuki Katana – Suzuki has revealed a new red colour for the Katana in Japan. The bike comes with a new body colour but the mechanicals and features remain unchanged. We can expect the Japanese bike maker to introduce the new Katana in India by 2021.
Government – The Government of India has extended the validity of the driver’s license, vehicle registration and vehicle fitness certificates till 30th June for the documents expiring between 1st February and 30th June.
