News highlights of the day include Hero, Honda, Bajaj Auto, Insurance and Karnataka Police.
Hero & Honda – Honda is a bigger two-wheeler exporter than Hero MotoCorp. The Japanese bike maker exported 3,08,725 units while the Indian bike maker exported 1,60,299 units during the period of April 2019-February 2020. Honda exports almost double the units compared to Hero MotoCorp.
Bajaj Auto – The Indian bike maker has discontinued the naked Pulsar 180 after 19 years of its existence in the market. The Pulsar 180F continues to remain on sale in India.
Insurance – The Indian government has granted relaxation for vehicle insurance renewal. Owners with vehicle insurance policies expiring during the 21-day lockdown get a grace period till 21st April for renewal.
Karnataka Police – The Karnataka Police has banned all vehicles until 14th April to ensure that people adhere to the nationwide lockdown. The police will seize the vehicles if they ply on road. 6852 vehicles have been seized until now in the state.
