News highlights of the day include Nissan Kicks, Revolt, Hyundai Verna and fuel prices.
Nissan Kicks – The international spec Nissan Kicks is set to get a mid-life update in next month. The global version of the Kicks is different from the Indian version and the latter won’t get any cosmetic updates for now. The Indian Kicks will soon get a 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine, the same one which was showcased with the Renault Duster at the 2020 Auto Expo.
Revolt RV400 Price Hiked – Revolt has increased the prices of the RV400 due to rise in input costs. The Revolt RV400 now costs Rs. 1.04 lakh (ex-showroom) plus additional RTO charges, insurance, smart card, and one-time 4G charges for 3 years. If you buy it on the monthly payment scheme, the RV400 costs Rs. 3999/- per month. Waiting period has been brought down from 5 months to 3 months.
Hyundai Verna Facelift – Hyundai will launch the Verna facelift in India on 26th March 2020. The vehicle will get changes to the exteriors and interiors. It will be offered with 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines, along with a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine. The Verna will rival the 5th Gen Honda City which is also due for an India launch.
Fuel Prices – Prices of petrol and diesel are set to fall because prices of crude oil have come down to a 13-month low. It now costs approx. $52 per barrel. As of today, petrol costs Rs. 77.59/- per litre in Mumbai while diesel costs Rs. 67.75/- per litre.
Motor Trivia – The last car to come with a cassette player was the Ford Crown Vic in 2011.
