News highlights of the day include Segway, Tesla, Kia, Tata and Renault.
Renault – Renault will introduce their first compact SUV codenamed HBC in the second half of 2020. The compact SUV will share most of its mechanicals with the Renault Triber including the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine.
Renault Triber – The Triber has become quite popular in the market soon after its launch. The car will get an AMT option along with a BS6 compliant engine in late January.
Tata Motors – The Indian carmaker has partnered with Prakriti E-Mobility cab service provider that will deploy 500 units of Tata Tigor EV in New Delhi. The first batch will have over 160 EVs that will hit the road in January.
Kia Sonet – The Kia Sonet, codenamed QYI is a compact SUV based on the Hyundai Venue which is likely to be showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo. It will be powered by the same engine options as the Venue. Launch is expected to happen in mid-2020.
Tesla – The electric vehicle maker had setup factory in China last year. The made in China Tesla Model 3 is all set for deliveries from the factory starting 30th December, 2019.
Segway Apex – The American company has revealed their first electric motorcycle the Segway Apex. The company claims that it can achieve a maximum speed of 201 km/hr and it does 0-100 km/hr in 2.9 seconds. The bike is expected to be showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo.
Motor Trivia – Did you know, when Ghulam Mohammed, one of the founders of Mahindra emigrated to Pakistan in 1947, Mahindra & Mohammed became Mahindra & Mahindra.
