News highlights of the day include Bajaj Auto, Husqvarna, National Highways and Ventilator.
Bajaj Auto – The Indian automaker has pledged a whopping Rs. 100 crores to fight COVID-19 crisis in India. It is the biggest amount yet by an automaker to deal with the Coronavirus battle in India. The company will help upgrade healthcare infrastructure and procure medical equipment.
National Highways – The central government has temporarily suspended toll collection on national highways to ensure smooth and fast movement of emergency services during the COVID-19 crisis in the country.
Ventilator – The Indian government has asked automakers to explore ventilator production in their facilities. Tata Motors, Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai are working on producing ventilators.
Husqvarna – The much awaited Husqvarna bikes were launched recently and they managed to sell only 163 units in the first month of launch. The Svartpilen 250 and the Vitpilen 250 official bookings commenced in February with a price of Rs. 1.80 lakhs (ex-showroom).
Motor Trivia – Did you know, on an average it takes 30,000 parts to make a regular car while it takes 80,000 parts to make an F1 car.
