News highlights of the day include Hyundai, Mercedes, Toyota and Volkswagen.
Hyundai Kona – Prices of the Hyundai Kona have been increased by Rs. 4000-5000/-. The vehicle is available in two variants – Premium and Dual-Tone. This electric car claims to offer a range of 450 kms and it even gets an 8 year warranty for the battery.
Mercedes Wishbox 2.0 – Mercedes-Benz has launched the Wishbox 2.0 finance schemes for customers. Customers won’t have to pay EMIs for the first three months and EMIs will commence from the fourth month for loan tenures of 3, 4, and 5 years. Customers can also choose a payment option that suits their convenience under the Step-Up 2020 scheme. Along with this, Mercedes is also offering a 10 year finance scheme and customers can opt for a guaranteed buy-back after 5 years.
Toyota – Toyota will restart production of vehicles at its Bidadi plant from 26th May 2020. Operations will commence in a phased manner and the company has come out with a revised set of guidelines for the entire staff. While the factory will be operated with limited workforce, most of the office employees will continue working from home. Production will be gradually ramped up.
Volkswagen T-Roc – Volkswagen has introduced the T-Roc Black Edition in the UK. This edition comes with black ORVMs, black grille, black roof rails and exhaust tips. It also gets 18-inch Arlo Black wheels. The T-Roc Black Edition is available with a 1.0-litre TSI engine churning out 113 HP. Volkswagen launched the T-Roc in India two months back and the India-spec model comes with a 1.5-litre TSI engine.
