Kawasaki – The Japanese performance bike maker has announced a considerable price hike of up to Rs. 20,000/- across its lineup in India from January 2021. The Z650 and W800 will get hike of Rs. 10,000/-. Vulcan, Versys 650 and Ninja 650 will be pricier by Rs. 15,000/-. Z900 and Versys 1000 will get a hike of Rs. 20,000/-.
Mahindra – Green signal for Mahindra’s redesigned Roxor as US regulator allows the Indian carmaker to sell the updated model as it no longer infringes the Jeep design. The sale of older models of the Roxor still remains barred.
Tata – The Indian carmaker is expected to introduce the long awaited Gravitas in January 2021. It is a longer version of the Harrier which is a 7-seater. It is expected to come with the same engine as the Harrier and the same list of features. It was showcased in a production-ready avatar at the 2020 Auto Expo.
Container Shortage – There is a global shortage of shipping containers and the Indian carmakers are worried about their supply chain as this crisis might result in shortage of parts and production losses in the coming three to four months. The lockdown has severely affected the shipping freight rates which have surged since July.
