Here are some highlights of the day from the auto industry around the globe.
Tata Harrier – Tata Motors has partnered with Orix car leasing firm to introduce Priority test drives. They will provide test drives of the Harrier at potential customers’ doorstep. For booking a test drive at their convenient locations, customers will have to fill a form on Tata’s website. Available only in Delhi NCR and Mumbai.
Nissan Ariya Concept – Nissan will reveal their all-electric Ariya concept at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show. This electric crossover from Nissan will have a range of 483 km and will do 0-100 km/hr sprint under 5 seconds. It will be equipped with Nissan’s ProPilot driver assistance technology.
MG ZS – After introducing the Hector in the Indian market, MG Motors is all set to introduce ZS electric car. The MG ZS will also be getting a 1.5-litre petrol engine along with a 1.0-litre petrol hybrid engine in India. All the engines will be BS6 compliant.
Benelli Imperiale 400 – The Royal Enfield Classic 350 rival has been launched today with an attractive price of Rs. 1.69 lakhs (ex-showroom). The bike has already crossed 350 bookings in just 23 days. It is available for a booking amount of Rs. 4000/-.
KTM Duke 250 – The Austrian bike maker is offering special festive season offers with the KTM Duke 250. It is available with special exchange offer, zero downpayment and low interest finance schemes. The bike maker expects more volumes with such festive season offers.
Kia Seltos – Kia has gathered more than 60,000 bookings for the Seltos in India. The compact SUV is putting the sales chart on fire. They have expanded the capacity to 15,000 units a month and has added another 1000 employees. The production has been ramped up from 3 lakh units per annum to 4 lakh units per annum.
Motor Trivia – Do you know Mr. Harpal Singh was the first owner of the Maruti 800 who got delivery on 14th Dec 1983. He maintained the car very well and continued to use it until 2010 when he passed away. Eventually the car was left to rust as no one took care of it. Maruti Suzuki has now restored the vehicle with original parts and the car with registration number DIA 6479 is still registered in the name of Harpal Singh.
