Jawa – Classic Legends has commenced the export of India-made Jawa bikes to Europe. It is slightly different from the Indian version. First of all, the name is Jawa 300 CL. Secondly, there is a difference in the specs, India-spec bike is powered by a 293cc engine producing 26.14 BHP and 27.05 Nm of torque. On the other hand, the European-spec model gets a 294.7cc engine Euro IV compliant making 22.5 BHP and 25 Nm of peak torque.
VinFast – VinFast President is a luxury SUV from a Vietnam-based carmaker. Only 500 units are available for sale, it’s priced at $164,000 (Rs. 1.20 crores). It’s made exclusively for the Vietnamese market, based on the previous generation #BMW X5 F15. Powered by a GM-sourced 6.2-litre V8 engine producing 420 HP and 624 Nm mated to an 8-speed AT with all-wheel drive. Does 0-100 km/hr in 6.8 seconds while the top speed is 300 km/hr.
Skoda – The Czech carmaker has introduced a new entry-level 1.0-litre mild-hybrid turbo petrol engine for the new generation Skoda Octavia. It is called Octavia e-Tec. This engine produces 110 PS and is mated to a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox. If Skoda plans to launch this version in India, it will have an aggressive price tag for sure.
EV Charging – The Delhi government is pushing the EV technology quite hard. After rolling out some attractive subsidies and schemes for electric vehicles in Delhi, they are now planning to set up around 200 charging stations across the city. These 200 locations will also offer battery swapping service at prominent locations in the city.
