News highlights of the day include MG, Bajaj, Jeep and Maruti Suzuki.
MG ZS – The MG ZS EV has scored a healthy 5-star rating at Euro NCAP. The car has scored 90 percent for adult occupant safety and 85 percent for child occupant safety while scoring 70 percent for safety assist system category. The car will be launched in India in early 2020 in a phased manner.
Bajaj Chetak – The electric scooter Bajaj Chetak will be delivered from the last week of January 2020. The price will be revealed next month and initially the scooter will be introduced in Bengaluru and Pune.
Jeep – The American carmaker is considering to introduce a Suzuki Jimny rival in the European market. It will be the entry-level SUV for Jeep and will be positioned below the Jeep Renegade. The compact SUV will be under 4-metres long. The SUV is expected to arrive in 2022.
Maruti Wagon R – One of the most popular cars in the Indian market, the Maruti Wagon R will complete 20 years in the Indian market on 25th December. It was first introduced in 1999. The tallboy has crossed 20 lakh sales in 2017. Over 24 lakh units have been sold until now.
