News highlights of the day include FADA, Ducati, Hero and KTM.
FADA – The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations has approached the supreme court with an application to request BS4 vehicle sales extension till 31st May instead of 31st March. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 the sales are further slowing down and the dealers still have BS4 vehicles stock.
Ducati – Due to the recent outbreak of Coronavirus in Italy, Ducati has extended the shutdown of production line in Borgo Panigale to 25th March. The Italian superbike maker has extended the shutdown by one week.
Hero Pleasure – The first generation Pleasure was introduced in the country as Hero Honda Pleasure in 2006. It was in production since 14 years until now as the Indian bike maker has decided to discontinue the scooter ahead of BS6 emission norms implementation from next month. The model has been replaced by the Hero Pleasure Plus which will be on sale with BS6 compliant engine.
KTM – The Austrian brand is suffering among other bike makers in the international market. Until now there have not been many constraints due to the Coronavirus in the Indian market but KTM might be facing supply issues in our country as Mattighofen plant shuts down in Austria.
