News highlights of the day include Mercedes-Benz, Kawasaki, TVS and Honda.
Mercedes-Benz – The German luxury carmaker has managed to sell 2386 units in the first quarter of 2020 in India. This is quite an impressive figure considering the huge slowdown in the auto industry due to BS6 transition and COVID-19 crisis.
Kawasaki – The Japanese bike maker has extended the warranty period amidst lockdown in the country. The services have been extended to 30th June for vehicles that have expiry of warranty between 1 March 2020 and 30 April 2020.
TVS – TVS has removed the Jupiter Grande from their website. The special edition scooter hasn’t been updated with BS6 compliant engine yet. The Grande edition is likely to make a comeback soon with an updated engine.
Honda ADV 150 – Honda has launched their latest scooter in USA. It is an adventure scooter with rugged elements and is powered by a 149cc single cylinder engine producing 14.5 BHP and 13.8 Nm torque. Unlikely to be launched in the Indian market.
Motor Trivia – Did you know, the BMW Isetta 3-wheeled car had only one door and that was its front profile. It was an instant hit as the German carmaker sold more than 1.50 lakh units back in 1955.
