News highlights of the day include TVS, Hero, Skoda and Mercedes.
TVS XL100 – The Indian bike maker has updated the XL100 with a BS6 compliant engine. It is one of the best selling two-wheelers in the country thanks to the affordable price and the practicality it offers. It is priced from Rs. 43,044/- (ex-showroom) for the BS6 version.
Hero Karizma – The Hero Karizma had a great fan following for a long time which eventually faded away. The Karizma was re-launched recently and now it has been discontinued again. The Indian bike maker’s website has removed the Karizma. Hero has no plans to put a BS6 engine in the Karizma and hence it has been discontinued.
TVS Radeon – As the deadline of emission norms is getting closer, all the manufacturers are updating their entire lineup with BS6 compliant engines. The TVS Radeon is one of the latest bikes to get BS6 update. It has been priced from Rs. 58,992/- (ex-showroom). The price has gone up by Rs. 8000/- over the BS4 model.
Skoda Rapid – The Czech carmaker revealed the Rapid Matte concept at the Auto Expo 2020. It has been confirmed for India launch later this year. It is Skoda’s first ever factory painted matte colour car in India. The new Rapid will come with a 1.0-litre TSI turbo petrol BS6 engine with manual and automatic transmission options.
Mercedes-AMG G63 – The German luxury carmaker’s performance division Mercedes-AMG has revealed the G63 Cigarette Edition at the Miami International Boat Show along with a 18-meter long Tirranna AMG Edition boat. The special edition car comes with unique cosmetic elements.
Motor Trivia – Did you know, the most expensive car key belongs to Koenigsegg. It is made of platinum and 40 carats of pure diamond, which is optional on customer’s demand. It costs around Rs. 1.80 crores.
