News highlights of the day include Skoda, Hyundai, Maruti Suzuki, Ather and Nissan.
Skoda Enyaq – The Czech carmaker has revealed the name of their upcoming all-electric SUV which will be called Skoda Enyaq. It will be based on the Skoda Vision iV concept. The electric SUV will be launched internationally in 2021.
Hyundai – The Korean carmaker has announced that the bookings for BS6 compliant Venue, Elite i20 and Grand i10 have commenced across the country. Hyundai already offers Grand i10 NIOS, Santro, Elantra and Aura with BS6 compliant engines.
Maruti Vitara Brezza – The Vitara Brezza facelift will be sold in 7 variants. It will be offered in LXi MT, VXi MT, VXi AT, ZXi MT, ZXi AT, ZXi+ MT and ZXi+ AT. Bookings for the same have commenced across some dealers while the price will be announced on 15th February.
Hyundai Creta – The new generation Hyundai Creta will be launched in India on 17th March. The compact SUV will be sharing engine options with the Kia Seltos including 1.5-litre petrol, 1.5-litre diesel and 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine. Expect it to be priced Rs. 1 lakh premium over the current model.
Nissan – Nissan has revealed yet another teaser of their upcoming compact SUV. It will be based on the CMF-A architecture. It is likely to get the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine option. The launch is expected to happen in September later this year.
Motor Trivia – Did you know, BMW built an X5 Le Mans edition in 2000 with a 700 HP V12 engine borrowed from the McLaren F1.
