More Tech Specs Out On Ferrari’s Enzo Successor

Ferrari has unveiled more information about the supercar succeeding the Ferrari Enzo on its website. According to the company, one of the major targets for the car was a reduction in height and wheelbase to match that of the Ferrari 458 Italia. The Ferrari magazine reports that everything the Scuderia Ferrari team has learned in Formula One is being carried forward into this soon-to-be-launched supercar. The Ferrari F1 designer, Rory Byrne has been working for 11 world championships for the team and has spent three years working on chassis development. The chassis is made up of different kinds of carbon fibre materials and is laid up by hand at the company’s F1 composites department.

The batteries and fuel tank of the Ferrari F150 will be placed just behind the tub and the driver’s back as seen on an F1 car. There will be a personalized cockpit for the driver, which is rare among road cars, featuring fixed position seats made-to-measure for the driver in the cabin. In order to accommodate pilots, the steering wheel and pedal box will be moveable. Ferrari says that the occupant’s feet are at the same level as the driving position and the angle of the seatback will provide an extraordinarily racy feeling.

The massive 6.3-litre V12 engine will generate around 740 BHP, which is currently found in the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta, which will be mated to the latest F1 style HY-KERS and a double-clutch transmission. According to the company, the powertrain makes the car quicker from 0 to 200 km/hr and emissions are reduced by 40 percent. The equipment list includes features like torque vectoring, traction control and brake force distribution. The name of this supercar is yet to be announced.
