Mitsubishi Pajero Refreshed For 2015, India Bound

Mitsubishi in India is very well known for the iconic SUVs it has given us and not to forget the Lancers and massively quick EVO X. One of the major products for Mitsubishi is the Pajero SUV which recently got updated and was unveiled at the 2014 Moscow International Auto Show with subtle styling and equipment improvements all over. Mitsubishi used to sell the Pajero in India, badged as the Montero but discontinued it due to poor demand when sales fell to zero units a month. It is also sold in various markets as the Shogun.

When it comes to the exteriors, the Japanese manufacturer has added two chrome bars on the front-end which extend from the grille all the way to the newly designed bumper which now get a different fog light surround with daytime running lights right next to it. The tail lights and the graphics are also new and so are the plastic cladding and covers that hide the spare wheel on the tailgate. Overall, design looks boxier than ever and is bound to appeal to people who look for road presence over anything else and we mean literally over anything else.

More changes for the 2015 model come in the form of reduced NVH levels thanks to better insulation of the cabin. A new ignition switch has also been added. Mitsubishi has kept automatic high beam feature as an option along with giving buyers the option to choose from a new collection of alloy wheel designs. In Russia, the 2015 Pajero will go on sale in September. Expect this model to come to India in late 2015 and it is unlikely to change the fortunes of the Japanese brand in the country. The automaker is betting heavily on emerging markets and plans to bring the Mirage and Attrage to India by 2016.
