The MINI Clubman has been launched in India, priced at Rs. 37.90 lakhs.
MINI has expanded its model range in India by launching the Clubman Cooper S at a price of Rs. 37.90 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The second-generation Clubman is based on BMW’s UKL2 platform, which India first saw underneath the X1 at the Auto Expo earlier this year. It’s the largest MINI to have been ever produced, measuring 4260 mm in length, 1800 mm in width and 1441 mm in height, along with a wheelbase of 1565 mm.
Practicality isthe Clubman’s USP so there’s generous seating arrangement for three individuals at the rear and a boot space of 360-litres (1250 litres if you flip the back seats folded). On the styling front, the exterior follows the typical MINI body language, although the elongated dimensions give the Clubman a slightly awkward stance when viewed from the sides.
Powering the Clubman is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol unit that produces 192 HP and 280 NM of torque. Globally, the Clubman gets both AWD and FWD variants. However, India only gets the latter, which is paired to an 8-speed Steptronic gearbox and 0-100 km/hr comes up in 7.2 seconds. A 2.0-litre diesel variant is expected to be added to the line-up next year.
