The MG ZS petrol, due for its launch by the first half (H1) of 2021, has been spotted while it was on test runs in Pune.
These images have been obtained through the courtesy of MotorBeamer Ninad. As can be seen, the pre-production model does sport heavy camouflage, but it is clear that it will look exactly like the car shown at the Auto Expo earlier this year.
In comparison with the ZS EV, the ZS petrol will get new LED headlights, smaller radiator grille, a different bumper with fog lamp housings and splitter upfront.
Along the sides, the model sports new alloy wheels, but the body panels and roof rails remain, while at the rear, there are new LED tail light units and a revised bumper.
To look at, from the outside, the MG ZS petrol is much better than its electric counterpart. However, the car’s insides (also spied earlier, click here to read article), will pretty much stay the same, apart from a few changes here and there.
Obviously, there will be a gear selector in the place of a dial offered on the ZS EV, while the climate control section might be revised. We expect the carmaker to upgrade the infotainment system when it puts the Hyundai Creta rival on sale.
When it launches the ZS petrol in India, MG is expected to offer 2 petrol engine options – a 1.0-litre turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated motor and price the vehicle on a par with its competition.
