MG Motor India has officially announced the name of their upcoming electric vehicle and it is called the MG Windsor EV. They term it as a Crossover Utility Vehicle (CUV). The Windsor name, according to the carmaker, is inspired by the Windsor Castle, it is a royal residence at Windsor in the English county of Berkshire.

While it will get MG specific badging and name, the car is based on the Baojun Cloud EV, which is available in the global markets. You can have a look at the images of the Cloud EV below. The MG Windsor will look more or less the same, having the same exterior styling and the same interior layout.

The front gets a strip of LED light on the nose which has a kink and the lower half of the bumper accommodates the main headlight setup. The charging socket is positioned on the front left fender, which is a convenient place. The ORVMs are mounted on the doors and not the A-pillar.

The interior of the MG Windsor will get a minimalistic design with a unique dashboard and a floating touchscreen infotainment system. It will get a flat-bottom two-spoke steering wheel. The seats look very comfortable having a cushiony pattern in the middle.

The electric vehicle gets two battery pack options in the international market – a 37.9kWh and a 50.6kWh, having a claimed range of 360 km and 460 km, respectively. It’s powered by a front-axle-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor that produces 134 HP. However, the specifications for the Indian market are yet to be known.
