MG Windsor EV to launch soon with 135° reclining seats for the rear passengers

MG Windsor EV is about to launch in the next few weeks. The carmaker has teased the interior of the new electric vehicle for the first time, revealing some of the details and segment first features.

The Windsor EV will get ‘Aero-Lounge’ seats for the rear passengers that will offer up to 135° recline angle. Other things to notice include the all-black upholstery, unique cushioning pattern, headrests for all three passengers at the back and an armrest as well. MG will be offering proper three-point seatbelts for all three seats.

Some of the funky details include gold inserts on the door pads along with blue ambient lighting. There is a rear AC vent as well with gold accents. Overall, the cabin looks airy and the panoramic sunroof will further add to the brightness inside the cabin.

The interior of the MG Windsor EV will get a minimalistic design with a unique dashboard and a floating touchscreen infotainment system. It will get a flat-bottom two-spoke steering wheel.

In terms of exterior design, it looks like a sizeable car with curves all around. The front gets a strip of LED light on the nose which has a kink and the lower half of the bumper accommodates the main headlight setup. The charging socket is positioned on the front left fender. The ORVMs are mounted on the doors and not the A-pillar. It comes with flush door handles that pop out for operation. The B, C and D-pillars are blacked out to give it a floating roof effect. The rear profile gets an LED tail light cluster, which is connected via an LED strip.

The electric vehicle gets two battery pack options in the international market – a 37.9kWh and a 50.6kWh, having a claimed range of 360 km and 460 km, respectively. It’s powered by a front-axle-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor that produces 134 HP. However, the specifications for the Indian market are yet to be known.
