MG Motor has submitted an application for the ADAS trademark to be used on the Gloster SUV when it gets launched in India.
ADAS refers to Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, says the manufacturer. Thus, the Gloster will become the country’s first non-luxury mainstream car to feature such systems on board.
Expect ADAS badging to be featured on the Gloster along with the “Internet Inside” badging that is sure to take its place on the full-size SUV.
In the recently released official teaser video of the SUV, we could see glimpses of the MG Gloster ADAS technology. The car is set to come with features such as autonomous parking, collision avoidance, emergency stop system, among others.
MG has stated multiple times that the Gloster will be priced between Rs. 40-45 lakhs, bang in the territory of the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour, however, the automaker has also stated that the Gloster will actually be a rival to some of the more expensive luxury SUVs.
Offering ADAS technology that so far has only featured in notable luxury cars from Volvo, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Land Rover brands, will give the Gloster a trump card it can play against its similarly priced competitors.
Launch of the Gloster is expected to take place soon and it will come in 6- and 7-seater layout, while engines on the car will displace 2.0-litres and will be offered in both petrol and diesel guises which will be mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
