MG Majestor Unveiled At Auto Expo 2025, Toyota Fortuner Legender Rival

The MG Majestor which takes inspiration from the internationally sold Maxus D90, will be positioned above the MG Gloster in the brand’s lineup. While it is essentially a heavily facelifted version of the Gloster, MG has ensured that the two models will coexist, catering to slightly different audiences.

Borrowing heavily from the internationally sold Maxus D90, the MG Majestor exudes an imposing road presence. Its front fascia features a bold blacked-out grille with horizontal slats and a massive MG logo, flanked by a split headlight design. The slim LED daytime running lights on top and vertically stacked headlights below create a modern, aggressive look.

The rugged character continues with:

At the rear, connected wraparound tail-lights and dual exhaust pipes integrated into a chunky skid plate give it a muscular yet refined finish.

Inside, the MG Majestor introduces a completely revamped dashboard layout, emphasising premium materials and cutting-edge technology. The highlights include:

The steering wheel design is new and the cabin is expected to be roomier and more luxurious than its predecessor, with improved upholstery and additional features aimed at providing a more premium experience.

The MG Majestor is expected to carry forward the 2.0-litre four-cylinder twin-turbo diesel engine from the Gloster. This engine produces 216 HP and 479 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. While rear-wheel drive is standard, the SUV will also offer an all-wheel-drive (4×4) variant.

The MG Majestor will take on established rivals in the full-size SUV market, including the Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian and Škoda Kodiaq. With an expected price range of Rs. 40 lakhs to Rs. 45 lakhs, the Majestor aims to attract buyers looking for a tech-forward alternative with a bold design and premium features.

Success of the Majestor will depend on how MG positions it against competitors like the Toyota Fortuner Legender, which enjoys a cult-like following in India. For those seeking a full-size SUV that marries sophistication with capability, the MG Majestor is certainly worth waiting for.
