MG Hector specifications revealed for the Indian market, it will come with four variants.
The much awaited MG Hector has been officially revealed for India. It will be the first car from the brand in our country. The carmaker had started its commercial production at their Gujarat plant in the first week of May. Official bookings of the MG Hector starts in June. The carmaker will initially have a network of 120 showrooms and will add 130 more by September, which makes it 250+ dealerships by the end of 2019.
MG Motor will be offering the Hector in four variants – Style, Super, Smart & Sharp. The colour options include Candy White, Aurora Silver, Starry Black, Burgandy Red and Glaze Red. Powering the MG Hector is a 1.5-litre petrol engine and a 2.0-litre diesel engine. There is an optional 48V mild hybrid tech on offer too with the petrol engine.
The 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine produces 143 PS of power with 250 Nm of torque. The petrol engine is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission which returns 14.16 km/l of claimed fuel efficiency. There is a dual-clutch automatic transmission on offer too with the petrol that returns 13.96 km/l.
The 2.0-litre diesel engine produces 170 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque. It is mated to only a 6-speed manual transmission and returns 17.41 km/l. In terms of dimensions, the Hector is 4655 mm long, 1835 mm wide and 1760 mm tall. It has a wheelbase of 2750 mm and 192 mm ground clearance.
Some of the key features of the MG Hector include e-sim connectivity, 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Navigation, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, Remote Car Operation, 6 airbags, cruise control, push button start/stop, electric adjust front seats, automatic tailgate, panoramic sunroof, rain sensing wipers, auto headlamps, mood lighting, 360 degree camera, ESP, TCS, VSM, HHC, etc.
The carmaker is betting big on the iSMART technology that will get OTA updates for the customers to tweak software, features, themes and infotainment content of the car. The MG Hector is expected to be priced aggressively. It will directly compete with the likes of Tata Harrier and Jeep Compass.
