MG Motor is coming up with their third product for India now. MG Hector Plus production has commenced and now the car has started rolling out of their facility. It is manufactured at the company’s Halol facility in Gujarat.
MG Motor has scheduled the launch for July, the date will get confirmed closer to the launch. The 6-seater SUV made its debut at the 2020 Auto Expo revealing the styling of the car while the interior was hidden to some extent.
The MG Hector Plus looks quite different than the regular Hector. It has a new wider grille up front, new headlamps, bumpers and revised tailgate design.
We spotted the interior too recently showing the huge panoramic sunroof of the car. It revealed the tan brown leather interior with captain seats for the middle row. MG Motor is targeting the Toyota Innova Crysta with the Hector Plus. However, the latter will be offered only with a 6-seater layout.
Same engine and gearbox options will be offered with the Hector Plus. A 2.0-litre diesel engine producing 170 HP and 350 Nm, mated to a 6-speed MT. A 1.5-litre turbo petrol with 143 HP and 250 Nm, mated to 6-speed MT and AT. A 1.5-litre petrol with 48V mild hybrid tech mated to 6-speed MT. However, the figures and powertrain options of the Hector Plus are yet to be confirmed from MG Motor.
