MG has launched its next offering in India. MG Hector Plus price starts from Rs. 13.48 lakhs (ex-showroom). This is an introductory price till 13th August, post which the company will increase the price by up to Rs. 50,000/-.
The 6-seater SUV comes with a whole host of features to impress buyers, apart from providing extra seating at the back.
The MG Hector plus has styling similar to that of the 5-seater version, but with several differences. Upfront, the grille has chrome embellishment, new LED headlights house floating indicators and LED DRLs in the revised front bumper.
A shoulder line runs across the length of the car, where its increased length can be seen. Also, the doors run till the bottom, meaning the calf portion of your trousers won’t get spoiled while getting out.
The rear section of the MG Hector Plus has seen the most revisions. The tailgate, LED taillights and the bumper have all been redesigned, while the red strip that connected the rear lamps has been deleted.
The interior too has received changes such as brown leatherette upholstery, second row captain seats with arm rests and the obvious third row of seats.

The MG Hector Plus is 65 mm long than the 5-seater MG Hector at 4720 mm. However, the wheel base of 2750 mm stays the same. The car is 1835 mm wide and has a ground clearance of 192 mm.
Boot space is 155 litres with third row seats up and 530 litres with them folded down. The fuel tank capacity is 60 litres.
The SUV comes with two engine options, a 1.5-litre turbo petrol produces 143 PS and 250 Nm of torque. There is a mild-hybrid version of the petrol that produces the same figures. Gear box options are 6-speed MT and DCT for the petrol and a 6-speed MT for the petrol hybrid.
There is a 2.0-litre diesel that puts out 170 PS and 350 Nm that is also mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.
Suspension duties are carried out by Mcpherson strut with stabiliser bar at the front and semi independent helical spring torsion beam at the rear.
Safety equipment and driver aids include six airbags, ABS, EBD, ESP, TCS, hill hold control, tyre pressure monitoring system, front parking sensors, 360 degree camera view and an electric parking brake. There are six colours to choose from.
MG Motor has announced that the Hector Plus is not meant for buyers who are primarily looking for 3rd row usage. It is for a family with 4 adults and 2 kids.
