MG India will launch the Hector facelift in January next year and the SUV is likely to come with more features owing to the update.
The midlife refresh comes within 2 years of the car’s launch, which is a short period to be honest, but is welcome nonetheless considering it will help keep the car fresh.
As spotted earlier, the MG Hector facelift gets a new radiator grille. It is expected to feature horizontal slats similar to the Chevrolet Captiva sold in South America. Also, there will be 18-inch wheels, that would better fill the arches.
Inside, the Hector facelift is likely to receive a dual-tone interior, like in the Hector Plus, and more features, including an auto-dimming rear-view mirror.
No mechanical changes are expected on the model and thus, it will continue to be powered by a 1.5-litre turbo petrol with and without mild-hybrid tech and a 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine. Similarly, gearbox options will also be retained.
Admittedly, MG Hector facelift launch will also see the asking price of the model, which is currently priced between Rs. 12.84 lakhs and Rs. 18.09 lakhs (both prices ex-showroom), increase.
Another car launch that the brand has lined up for later next year is the ZS petrol. Indians already know the ZS EV well by now and this should help the SUV, in petrol guise, to gain good traction.
The good thing is that it will also be a facelifted model and powering the car would likely be a 1.0-litre turbo petrol motor.
