MG Gloster Storm series launched in India with two special edition models
MG Gloster Snowstorm and Desertstorm editions launched, priced at Rs. 41.04It is powered by a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine that produces 215 PS and 478 Nm of torque. lakhs (ex-showroom). Both the special editions come with cosmetic changes to boost the visual appeal of the SUV. With the launch of these new editions, the Storm series now includes Blackstorm, Desertstorm and Snowstorm editions.
The MG Gloster Desertstrom comes with Deep Golden exterior paint complemented by black highlights that includes the black grille, black alloy wheels with red callipers, dark-themed ORVMs, red isle LED headlamps and Highlands Mist LED tail lamps along with all-black door handles, Daylight Opening garnish, roof rails, spoiler and fender garnish. The cabin of the Desertstorm gets black-themed interior including black steering wheel with white stitching and black upholstery.
The Gloster Snowstorm comes with dual-tone Pearl White and black exterior. It gets headlamps with red inserts and front and rear bumpers highlighted in Pearl White with red accents. The front grille, alloys, door handles and rear spoiler are finished with black. The outside rear-view mirror is painted in black finish with a hint of red insert. The window surround, fender garnish and fog garnish get black treatment as well. The tail light gets a smoked black effect too. The seats and steering wheel get black theme with white stitching.
MG is also offering an option for dealer-fitted accessories like Desertstorm and Snowstorm badges, seat massagers, themed carpet mats, dashboard mats and premium JBL speakers.
There are no mechanical changes in these special editions. It is powered by a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine that produces 215 PS and 478 Nm of torque. Available in both 2WD and 4WD variants. While the Desertstorm comes with both 6 & 7-seater configurations, the Snowstorm comes only in a 7-seater option.
Some of the safety features include Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) with Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Blind Spot Detection (BSD), Lane Change Assist (LCA), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Driver Open Warning (DOW), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) and Lane Change Assist (LCA).
Some of the features include dual panoramic sunroof, 12-way power-adjustable driver seat with massage and ventilation functions and wireless charging capabilities.
The MG Gloster competes with the Toyota Fortuner and Skoda Kodiaq in the Indian market. The carmaker is preparing to launch a substantial facelift soon in the coming months that will get drastic visual changes, new interior and more features on offer.
