The SUV is kitted to the brim with tonnes of features and tech

The MG Gloster has been officially revealed and bookings of the SUV have also commenced from today onwards. Customers can pay a token amount of Rs. 1 lakh and place their order for MG’s flagship vehicle.

Gloster’s manufacturer says that the SUV is the tallest and longest among premium SUVs, with the car measuring nearly 5 metres in length and 1.9 metres in height while riding on 19-inch alloy wheels.

Designed to accommodate three rows of passengers, the second row seats are captain chairs, the Gloster is sure to have good road presence due to its big proportions.

Inside, the SUV has a premium look to it, what with leather seats, 12.3-inch central touchscreen, 8-inch MID, 12 speaker sound system, panoramic sunroof and 64 colour ambient lighting, iSmart 2.0, 3-zone climate control, among several other features. Also, the front seats are heated, with the driver getting a massage function in addition.

MG claims the Gloster is India’s first Level-1 autonomous vehicle with its Advanced Driver Assist Features (ADAS) such as –

  • Adaptive Cruise Control
  • Lane Departure Warning
  • Front Collision Warning
  • Autonomous Emergency Braking
  • Auto Park Assist

Powering the Gloster is a 2.0-litre twin turbo diesel that puts out 218 PS and 480 Nm and all the power is channel to the on-demand 4-wheel-drive system through an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

Suspension is independent double wishbones at the front and 5-link unit at the rear. The car also has a rear differential, a BorgWarner Transfer Case and several off-road modes such as Rock, Sand, Mud and Snow and Auto, making it a capable off-roader. There are two modes for on-road driving as well – Eco and Sport.

As mentioned above, MG Gloster bookings have commenced. Customers can book the SUV from the comfort of their homes or head to their nearest dealership to secure an allocation. Launch of the SUV is expected to take place during the first week of October.
