MG has released the official teaser video of the Gloster SUV that is set to be launched soon in the Indian market.

Said to come with next-gen automotive technology, the MG Gloster is the automaker’s flagship and was first shown at the Auto Expo 2020 before being teased in June on MG’s official India website. Several test mules of the car were spotted as well.

The MG Gloster teaser shows the autonomous features that the SUV will come with. It can be seen that technology-driven safety features will be high. The Gloster teaser shows that the car will come with autonomous parking, collision avoidance and emergency stop systems.

MG Motor claims that the Gloster will rival the Volvo XC90 and will be pitted against the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Toyota Land Cruiser, both of which are no longer on sale here.

The catch is, despite rivalling products that sit around the Rs. 80 lakhs (or above) segment, the MG Gloster will be priced around the Rs. 45 lakhs (ex-showroom) region.

Powering the full-size SUV, that will come with 6- and 7-seater layouts, will be a 2.0-litre diesel engine producing 218 PS of maximum power and 480 Nm of peak torque. It will be mated to an 8-speed auto gearbox. A 2.0-litre turbo petrol will also be available.
