The MG Gloster’s interior has been spied for the first time after the vehicle made its India debut.
The MG Gloster SUV was revealed at the 2020 Auto Expo and this vehicle will soon be launched in India to rival the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour. The SUV will be offered in 6-seater and 7-seater configurations in 2+2+2 or 2+3+2 layouts.
When the SUV was showcased at the Auto Expo, we couldn’t get a glimpse of the interiors because the vehicle was tinted but now a test mule has been spied revealing the cabin of the Gloster. The flat-bottom steering wheel gets a chunky design and you can see buttons for the audio, phone, and cruise control on either side.
The gear selector knob on the centre console also looks quite unique but does seem to have taken some inspiration from certain luxury cars. You also get grab handles on the A-pillar. The rest of the dashboard is covered so we can’t make out more details.
The upholstery on the seats seems to be a mix of leather and fabric while the second row seat gets a 60:40 split feature. The MG Gloster measures 5005 mm in length, 1932 mm in width and 1875 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2950 mm.
Under the hood of the MG Gloster is a 2.0-litre diesel engine developed in-house by the automaker and this unit churns out 218 PS of power and 480 Nm of torque, mated to an 8-speed AT. The Gloster gets a dual helix independent suspension up front and a five-link integral suspension at the rear. The MG Gloster rivals the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado and Jeep Grand Cherokee overseas but here it will be priced between Rs. 40-45 lakhs (ex-showroom).
