The MG eZS electric SUV has been spied undergoing testing in India.
Barely a month after the launch of its first product in India, MG is making news through what could be the first full-sized electric SUV in the country. The company’s very first electric offering for India has been recently spotted testing in Vadodara, Gujarat. A heavily camouflaged MG eZS SUV is a zero-emission electric sibling of the fossil-fuel-powered MG ZS SUV, revealed at the 2018 Guangzhou Motor Show.
MG had hinted at the possible arrival of an electric vehicle after rolling out its first product in India, the Hector which is reportedly sold out for the year 2019.
The MG eZS resembles a lot like the standard ZS but gets a few differentiating elements on it. The electric SUV gets 5-spoke alloy wheels, an exclusive blue paint shade, a charging port under the grille and an eZS badging. The cabin gets a touchscreen infotainment system and a large panoramic sunroof. MG’s iSmart Next-Gen technology will most likely be a part of the package.
No official statement is passed around about the car’s mechanical configurations. However, the Chinese variant of the MG eZS is powered by an electric motor good for 150 PS of power and a range of 335 kms. The carmaker is bringing the eZS to India by the end of 2019, it remains to be seen if the India-spec SUV will bear the same configurations.
