MG Air EV spotted for the first time in India
MG Air EV was recently confirmed for India launch for early 2023. The two-door electric vehicle has now been spotted in the country for the first time! The test mule is spotted by MotorBeamer Ayush Modi.
The carmaker is expected to showcase the compact EV at the upcoming Auto Expo 2023. It will be their entry-level product for the Indian market.
It is currently being sold in the Indonesian market as Wuling Air EV. Looks exactly the same in terms of design. However, there might be some mechanical changes to the Indian version.
The tiny EV has a wheelbase of 2010 mm and is 2.9 metres long. It has a battery capacity of 20 kWh to 25 kWh. Expected to offer a range of 150-200 km on a single charge.
The front-wheel drive electric vehicle will get a 40 HP electric powertrain with a single motor. The battery pack will be sourced from Tata AutoComp.
It is a 2-door vehicle but gets a 4-seater layout in the cabin. It comes with a clean dashboard having dual 10.25-inch screens, one for the infotainment system while the other acts as a digital instrument cluster.
MG Motor is expected to price it around Rs. 10 lakhs (ex-showroom). It will be targeted for buyers looking for a city runabout urban electric vehicle. It might get popular in the commercial segment as well.
