Mercedes-Benz has an interesting display of cars at the ongoing Auto Expo. The S-Class Cabriolet is a part of the lineup too.
In the recent years, Mercedes has been coming up with stunning looking cars. Pick up any car from the lineup and beautiful is the word that comes to the mouth. One of the hottest looking convertibles is also a part of the same portfolio and it is the S-Class Cabriolet. The carmaker has displayed the car at the Auto Expo as an attention drawer with a launch scheduled for later this year. The displayed variant is the standard model with a 4.7-litre V8 engine.
Making a comeback after 44 long years, the S-Class Cabriolet is exactly similar to its coupe sibling in terms of dimensions. It also gets the same powertrain options. What differentiates the convertible is its soft top mechanism which opens the roof in under 20 seconds to offer top-down motoring thrill. The soft top has been suitably designed to keep noise out when it’s up. There are certain additional features in the cabriolet version as well.
Mercedes-Benz has added AIRSCARF which is basically a heater for the neck to be used on those cold winter days when cruising with the roof down. The AIRCAP system helps in reducing the turbulence in the cabin. The engine options include a 4.7-litre V8 engine which produces 455 BHP of power whereas the range topping S63 AMG trim gets a 5.5-litre V8 engine producing a whopping 577 BHP of power. The S-Class Cabriolet is expected to be launched in India later this year.
