Mercedes-Benz is certainly very serious about widening its performance brand AMG’s presence in India. After launching the GL63 AMG in the country just last month, the German auto giant will be bringing the ML63 AMG in India on 15th May, 2014. The launch of the performance SUV will coincide with the launch of the AMG Performance Centre in Delhi, a first of its kind facility in the country.
Coming back to the Mercedes ML63 AMG, the performance SUV is based on the regular ML-Class and features a 5.5-litre bi-turbo V8 engine that produces 532 PS of power and a staggering 700 Nm of torque. The 7G-Tronic Speedshift transmission sends power to all four-wheels. 0-100 km/hr comes up in just 4.8 seconds, while the top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/hr. There is also an optional AMG Driver’s Package that extends the top speed to 280 km/hr, while 0-100 km/hr comes 0.1 second faster.
Much like the GL63 AMG, the ML63 AMG too looks very similar to the regular ML-Class. Mercedes offers minimalistic changes to the exteriors apart from the massive air intakes in the front and the trademark quad-exhausts and AMG badging at the rear. The cabin is engulfed with luxury and gets the AMG performance steering wheel, sport seats, sport pedals along with a host of superior quality leather upholstery on offer. Stay tuned as we bring all the details on the ML63 AMG and the AMG Performance Centre on the launch day from Delhi. In the meantime, check out the images below.
