Mercedes-Benz has posted record sales last year and has shown impressive growth. The company launched an array of models across various segments.
Mercedes-Benz has had a fantastic 2014, selling the highest number of vehicles in its 20-year presence in India. The automaker sold 10,201 units last year, a milestone as it crossed the 10,000 unit mark in a single year. The fantastic performance can be attributed to the launch of 10 new models along with opening up of 14 new outlets. The German brand also launched its pre-owned brand, inaugurating 12 outlets of Mercedes-Benz Certified at the same time. In 2013, Mercedes sold 9003 units and thus saw a growth of 13% in sales last year.
Mercedes-Benz also rolled out its 50,000th car in India last year, from its production plant in Chakan which is spread over 100 acres of land. Currently Mercedes has 68 outlets in 37 cities which is by far the most for any luxury car brand in the country. The Stuttgart automaker also inaugurated three AMG Performance Centres in India, one each in Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore. Mercedes focussed on all kinds of buyers, right from entry-level luxury seekers to high-end customers while also pleasing performance lovers with four new AMG launches.
So what all did Mercedes-Benz launch in 2014? Next generation S-Class (S500 and S350 CDI), ML63 AMG, GL63 AMG, A-Class Edition 1, B-Class Edition 1, CLA45 AMG, E350 CDI, GLA, GLA45 AMG and the next generation C-Class. In 2015, Mercedes will continue its product onslaught with the launch of a slew of models including the CLA, E400 Cabriolet, C-Class Diesel, AMG GT, ML Facelift (renamed to GLE), GL Facelift (renamed to GLS), S-Class Hybrid (S400) and probably the S63 AMG as well.
