2014 Mercedes S63 AMG

It seems like Mercedes is concentrating to improve its performance portfolio in the country as the S63 AMG sedan was just imported to India from Germany and will be launched before the end of this year.

The S63 AMG offers the perfect blend of luxury and performance

After claiming the number one spot in the luxury car market in India, there has been no looking back for Mercedes-Benz. The German luxury car maker has launched a slew of products this year ranging from the entry-level, all the way up to the performance luxury segment. Mercedes is leaving no stone un-turned to continue to remain the top luxury brand in the country. Today, the company launched the S500 coupe and S63 AMG in our country and these two products will soon be joined by their sibling, the S63 AMG sedan.

One unit of the S63 AMG sedan was recently imported to our country from Germany in the right-hand drive avatar. Dealers had started accepting bookings for the same earlier this year itself and the performance version of one of the best looking car in the world, S-Class will soon be launched in our country. Powering the S63 AMG is a massive 5.5-litre twin-turbo, V8 engine that develops 577 BHP and 900 Nm of peak torque. The humongous amount of power is sent to either the rear wheels or to all-four wheels through a 7-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT multi-clutch automatic transmission.

The S63 AMG sedan is literally the epitome of automotive engineering, blending luxury and performance immaculately and the vehicle can be driven in three driving modes – S (Sport), C (Controlled Efficiency) and M (Manual). The sedan can hit a top whack of 250 km/hr (electronically limited) and can reach 100 km/hr from standstill in just 4 seconds in the 4MATIC and 4.4 seconds in the RWD variant respectively. Visually, the S63 AMG features sportier bumpers and alloy wheels as compared to the standard S-Class and the interiors can be customised as per the customers desire. When launched in India, it is expected to be priced at Rs. 2.5 crores (ex-showroom, Delhi).
