The Mercedes G63 AMG adds some attention seeking stance with the new Crazy Colour edition without any changes to the mechanicals under the hood.
The Mercedes G-Wagen is one of the most iconic SUVs to come out of Germany or for that matter globally and there will hardly be a time when the legendary model won’t feel exclusive enough for you. In its latest avatar, the G-Wagen is sold with an Affalterbach tuned V8 heart christened as the G63 AMG and if you think the modern iteration isn’t exclusive enough, Mercedes-Benz India has now launched the eye-grabbing, attention seeking Crazy Colour Edition of the G63 AMG in the country, priced at Rs. 2.17 crores (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Apart from the ability to be seen from light years away, the Mercedes G63 AMG Crazy Colour Edition adds some funk to the luxury SUV, making it stand out from the crowd. Available only select countries, India is the latest market to get the special colour option after Germany and the UK among many others. Available in the Sunset Beam (orange), Solar Beam (yellow) and Alien Green shades in the country, the SUV gets done up in the trendy shade of your choice and gets further complimented by contrasting black 5-spoke AMG alloy wheels as well as Obsidian Black paint on the front and rear bumpers, wheel arches and the rain gutters.
Inside the cabin, the Mercedes G63 AMG Crazy Colour Edition continues with the vibrant theme with body-coloured contrast stitching on the seats, dashboard, centre console and door panels. The seats are upholstered in designo black leather and you also get an AMG performance steering wheel and carbon fibre trim. In terms of mechanicals, the menacing 5.5-litre V8 motor hasn’t been meddled with and continues to produce 544 HP at 5500 RPM and 760 Nm of torque between 2000-5000 RPM. The motor comes paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and helps do the 0-100 km/hr sprint in 5.4 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 210 km/hr.
