Mercedes G 400d launched in two variants in India
Mercedes G 400d launched, priced from Rs. 2.55 crores (ex-showroom). It will be offered in two trims – Adventure Edition and AMG Line.
Mercedes-Benz has introduced Adventure Edition with exclusive India Specific colours – desert sand, travertine beige, vintage blue and south seas blue.
Bookings are open for a token amount of Rs. 1.5 lakhs. Deliveries of the G 400d will commence in early Q4 2023.
It is powered by a 2.9-litre in-line 6-cylinder diesel engine producing 330 HP and 700 Nm of torque. This OM656 engine is the most powerful diesel engine in a Mercedes-Benz ever!
It does 0-100 km/hr in 6.4 seconds. Has a top speed of 210 km/hr. The German luxury carmaker says this engine features NANOSLIDE cylinder barrels used by Mercedes-Benz in Formula 1 – with ideal lubrication, reduced friction and highly wear-resistant.
For off-road capabilities you get 241 mm ground clearance, 45 degrees maximum gradeability, 700 mm maximum fording depth in water and mud passages, 35 degrees maximum sliding slope angle, 30.9 degrees maximum approach angle, 29.9 degrees maximum departure angle, 25.7 degrees maximum breakover angle and ‘G Mode’: Special Off-road driving mode.
Some of the highlights of the Adventure Edition includes roof rack with C profile rails, removable ladder at the rear with anti-slip coating, logo projector in the outside mirror, roof luggage rack, Manufaktur Logo Package, exterior package, spare wheel holder, 18-inch 5-spoke light-alloy wheels painted in silver, full-size spare wheel on tailgate, door handle with embossed logo, steering wheel in Nappa Leather and 4 exclusive colors with 25 total colour options.
The AMG Line gets a more sporty appeal with sporty multi-functional steering wheel, multibeam LED headlamps, sporty stainless steel spare wheel cover, underguard in silver, 20-inch standard alloy wheels, Burmester surround sound system, sliding sunroof, ambient lighting in 64 colours, etc.
