Mercedes-Benz will launch the EQC electric SUV in India in April 2020.
Mercedes-Benz has introduced its dedicated mobility division, the EQ brand in India. The company has also announced the introduction of the EQC, the automaker’s first car under the EQ brand, in the country in April 2020.
In terms of design, the Mercedes-Benz EQC gets a black panel radiator grille with louvers and edging in high-gloss black. The electric vehicle stands tall on 10-spoke 20-inch alloy wheels finished in gloss black and some white elements.
The Mercedes-Benz EQC claims a range of 445-471 kms as per the New European Drive Cycle. It is powered by 2 asynchronous motors, complemented by an all-wheel-drive mechanism capable of churning 408 PS of power and 760 Nm of peak torque. The brand claims that the EQC can sprint 0-100 kmph in just 5.1 seconds.
Mercedes-Benz has claimed that by the end of this quarter, 45% of its energy requirement will come from renewable resources, made possible with the installation of over 4000 solar panels. With this, Mercedes-Benz India will be able to produce around 1.6 MW every year and reduce 2600 tons of CO2 per year. The luxury brand aims to be a 75% green energy manufacturing facility.
Apart from the EQC, the all-electric variant of GLC-Class, the automaker is also working on the EQV, based on the V-Class. The luxury carmaker also plans to launch models like EQA, EQB, EQS and EQE in the market.
