So we are here at the 2014 Auto Expo and it has been a delight to check out the new Mercedes CLA45 AMG which the company has just unveiled. The CLA45 AMG is the performance version of the CLA compact sedan. The CLA competes with the Audi A3 while the CLA45 AMG will compete with the Audi S4. The CLA45 AMG looks absolutely smashing from the outside and it is offered with the following colour options – Cirrus White, Cosmos Black, Jupiter Red, Mountain Grey, Night Black, Northern Lights Violet, Polar Silver, Universe Blue, Designo Magno Polar Silver and finally Designo Patagonia Red Metallic Bright.
Since this is such a special vehicle, it needs to make the buyer also feel special right? Hence Mercedes-Benz offers a slew of interior customisation packages with the CLA45 AMG which include everything from man-made leather to perforated leather in a range of colours to choose from. You get to choose from three alloy wheel designs too available in colours like matte black and high sheen silver. The Mercedes CLA45 AMG is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine which is a 4-cylinder unit giving out 360 HP of power and 450 Nm of torque.
The Mercedes CLA45 AMG is claimed to complete the 0-100 km/hr sprint in just 4.6 seconds. Mercedes-Benz has mated the powerful engine to a 7-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT dual-clutch sports transmission which offers three modes to choose from – double-declutching function, Race Start function and the 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system. This beast of a car is also loaded with a 3-stage Electronic Stability Program. Some other sporty bits include the AMG sports steering wheel, AMG sports suspension, AMG axles AMG cooling system and AMG braking system. Mercedes hasn’t disclosed plans of launch yet.
