Mercedes-Benz has revealed its plans for India. The car maker has confirmed that they will launch their compact sedan CLA in India this year. The vehicle was recently unveiled at the 2013 Detroit Motor Show. The all new CLA is based on the new Modular Front Architecture (MFA) platform and this new platform is also being shared with the A-Class hatchback. The CLA220 CDI features a 2.2-litre diesel engine producing a maximum power output of 167 BHP and a peak torque figure of 350 Nm. Both the engines are mated to a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission.
The base variant of the Mercedes-Benz CLA features front-wheel drive system and the 4Matic variant features an all-wheel drive system. The CLA comes equipped with the ECO stop/start system as standard on all version for keeping the engine fuel efficient. The compact sedan offers a long list of premium features and safety features including panoramic roof, Attention Assist for drowsiness detection, radar based Collision Prevention Assist with adaptive Brake Assist, Blind Spot Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, an optional AMG styling kit and a choice of multimedia systems.
