Mercedes, BMW, Audi Offer Steep Year End Discounts Of Rs. 10 lakhs

Luxury car makers are offering steep discounts in order to improve the overall annual performance as the luxury car market aims to sell around 35,000 units this year.

While Santa Claus may not have come to town this Christmas to give your gift hidden in a sock, luxury car makers are feeling generous and are offering steep discounts of up to Rs. 10 lakhs on a range of offerings this festive season. In a bid to entice buyers, German giants Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Audi are offering discounts of up to Rs. 10 lakhs on a range of vehicles in order to maintain the positive growth the luxury car space has witnessed this year.

Starting with the most fabulous deals of all, BMW is offering discounts of Rs. 10 lakhs on the flagship 7-Series sedan, while discounts of up to Rs. 7 lakhs is offered on the 5-Series mid-size sedan. BMW’s entry-level SUV the X1 is available with a discount of Rs. 6 lakhs; whereas the 3-Series GT comes with a discount of Rs. 4 lakhs along with Rs. 2 lakhs knocked off the X3 SUV. Both the models were launched just months ago in the domestic market.

Audi on the other hand is offering benefits of Rs. 5.5 lakhs on the A4, while buyers opting for the bigger A6 sedan will be entitled to a discount of Rs. 7 lakhs. BMW’s X1 rival the Q3 is available for a discount of Rs. 2.5 lakhs, while the Q5 SUV is available with a discount of Rs. 4 lakhs. Stuttgart based Mercedes too is on a roll with discounts of Rs. 5 lakhs on the E-Class, Rs. 2.5 lakhs on the B-Class and of Rs. 2 lakhs on the A-Class hatchback. The discounts do vary depending on the dealer and city.

The luxury car market is currently led by Audi and Mercedes who are trying to close the present year on a high in terms of sales. Audi sold more than 10,000 units last year and are trying to break the 11,000 mark this year. The company has already sold a little over 10,000 units by end-November. Mercedes too is aiming for the 10,000 units a year mark and reported sales of 7529 units until September this year. The automaker sold 9003 units in 2013.

The luxury car market has shown positive growth compared to the mass market space and car makers want to keep the momentum growing with discounts of up to 15 percent on offer. Customers opting to buy now will not only benefit from discounts, but will also save up on the excise duty that is expected to take a hike early next year. The luxury car space is expected to make a total sales of around 35,000 units in 2014, compared to 30,000 units sold in 2013.
