Mercedes-Benz brings a new concept design for what a next-generation Golf cart should look like. The concept is named as ‘Vision Golf Cart’ and is designed in a futuristic way that looks like an astronomical design. The German engineers and designers have crafted the model at Mercedes-Benz Advanced Design Center in Carlsbad, California. The curious concept is designed on the basis of valuable feedbacks and inputs from golfers all over the world.
The Mercedes-Benz Vision Golf Cart Concept is a two-seater vehicle whose design aspects slightly resemble Renault’s city car, Twizy, while the open tyre concept seems similar to the Caterham cars genre. The three star golf cart has removable light weight doors for convenience and to provoke futuristic design, the conventional steering wheel has been replaced with a centre console mounted joy stick control that can be captained by any of the two occupants. The other techie features include a head-up display integrated into the windscreen that gives information related to game status, course layout and weather information when the vehicle is in a stationary position.
A fore-button is integrated to warn other players about a misplaced shot. The comfort and entertainment level is increased with AIRSCARF neck-level heating system for the seats, cooling/heating seats control, cup holders with temperature control, refrigerator, AUX connectivity, iPhone docking station along with speakers. The concept runs on complete electric power which doesn’t requires manual charging as a solar panel is installed on the roof to charge the batteries continuously.
Mercedes-Benz has also featured LED headlights, indicators and tail lights which are mandatory if a user wants to drive it on public roads. Mercedes officials haven’t revealed any plans of a production model and states – “Although the Mercedes-Benz Vision Golf Cart is only a design study so far, there are no doubt many players who would like to see the cart become reality, bringing its fresh ideas and thus more fun, more innovation and more comfort to moving around on the golf course”.
