Mercedes-Benz has showcased the GLC at the 2016 Auto Expo, however the automaker does not have any olans of launching the SUV in near future.
Mercedes-Benz has been the most aggressive luxury brand in the Indian market since the past two years. It has launched numerous new models which has made its portfolio in India very strong. This has led to a growth in sales making the three-pointed star the leader in our market. The automaker showcased the GLC SUV at the 2016 Auto Expo but has no plans to launch the SUV anytime soon.
The GLC is the replacement for the GLK (not available in India) and looks in line with Mercedes’s new styling philosophy. It is positioned above the GLA and competes with the Audi Q5, BMW X3 and Volvo XC60. It goes without saying that the SUV is loaded with safety features and equipment. It gets features like Air Body Control Suspension, Dynamic Select driving modes, LED lighting system and HUD amongst others.
The Mercedes GLC shares the platform with the C-Class but gets a longer wheelbase to increase the space inside the vehicle. It comes with 4MATIC as standard like its elder sibling, the GLE. Engine options include the familiar 2.1-litre diesel engine producing 170 BHP of power and 400 Nm of torque and a 2.0-litre petrol engine producing 241 BHP of power and 370 Nm of torque.
