The Mercedes-Benz GLC Facelift gets BS6-compliant engines.
The Mercedes-Benz GLC facelift has been launched in India at Rs. 52.75 lakhs for the petrol variant (GLC 200) while the diesel trim (GLC 220d 4Matic) is tagged at Rs. 57.75 lakhs, all prices, ex-showroom. The SUV gets a restyled grille, refreshed headlamp and taillamp design, and some design enhancements for the front and rear bumpers.
The Mercedes GLC facelift gets a large 10.25-inch touchscreen that gets the brand’s latest MBUX infotainment system. The ‘Hey Mercedes’ voice command interface and a large central touchpad has made it to the GLC range for the first time. Updated textures and a fully digital instrument cluster are part of the package. It also gets the ‘Off-Road Engineering Package’ adding the Off-Road and Off-Road+ driving modes. Moreover, the ‘Driving Assistance Package’ adds adaptive cruise control, active steering assist, lane change assist and route-based speed adaptation.
Driving the Mercedes GLC facelift around are the latest BS6-compliant engine options already seen on the C-class and the E-class sedans in India. The GLC 200 petrol comes with a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 197 PS and 300 Nm of torque while the GLC 220d diesel gets a 2.0-litre unit that belts out 190 PS and 400 Nm of torque. All variants will get the 9 G-Tronic automatic transmission as standard.
The refreshed GLC rivals the likes of the Land Rover Discovery Sport, the BMW X3 and the Volvo XC60 in India.
