Mercedes-Benz is on a product offensive in India and why not, they have been doing incredible sales in both ICE and EV segments. The EQS, which is a pure luxury EV, has been selling in really good numbers and to give it some company, the German automaker has launched the EQE SUV which is priced at Rs. 1.39 Crore (ex-showroom, India).
The variant launched in India is the EQE 500 4MATIC and it is specced in the best possible way for Indian customers. It gets features like MBUX infotainment system with Hyperscreen, Burmester 15-speaker 3D surround sound system, Digital Lights, HEPA Filter, Air Balance Package, HUD, AIRMATIC Suspension, ADAS Level-2, front massage seats, etc.
Powering the vehicle is a 90.56 kWh battery with an output of 300 kW (402 HP) and 858 Nm. The claimed range under the WLTP cycle is 550 kms. The top speed is rated at 210 km/hr while the car accelerates from 0-100 km/hr in 4.9 seconds.
The vehicle gets a segment best warranty of 10 years for the battery and the company also stated that 5 years down the line, the resale value will be similar to that of the GLE. The vehicle has a 2 year service interval and the Star Ease Package (4 years/unlimited kms) starts at Rs. 90,000/- while the Advance Assurance extended warranty pack starts at Rs. 77,000/-.
Mercedes currently has 140+ charging stations in India and these include AC, 60 kW and 120 kW. These chargers can be used by EV customers of all brands.
