Mercedes AMG SL 55 gets a twin-turbo V8 engine under the hood
Mercedes AMG SL 55 Roadster launched in India with a price tag of Rs. 2.35 crores (ex-showroom). This is the first SL in all these years to be fully developed by AMG.
In terms of design, it looks very sporty and aggressive. It gets a sharp headlight cluster up front, dominant grille which is quite big in size and has 14 slats. Front bumper gets huge air intakes. The convertible looks very attractive from the side profile with those larger alloys. The rear profile has got some curves that look retro.
It has got a modern retro interior design, Mercedes likes to call it “hyperanalogue” which is a mix of analogue geometry and digital world.
The Mercedes-AMG SL 55 Roadster is powered by a 4.0-litre biturbo V8 engine producing 476 BHP and 700 Nm of torque. It is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission.
The SL does 0-100 km/hr in 3.9 seconds while the top speed is 295 km/hr.
