Mercedes-AMG has set a rather serious price tag for the GLE 63 S coupe
Mercedes-AMG has launched the GLE 63 S 4Matic+ Coupe with a price tag of Rs. 2.07 crores (ex-showroom), today in India.
Visually, the performance SUV is an aggressive beast. At the front, there is a large grille with vertical chrome slats, a huge gaping ‘mouth’, small splitter and power bulges on the bonnet.
Shod with 22-inch alloy wheels, the coupe SUV sports a small spoiler on the boot lid and an AMG-specific bumper, while a diffuser sits below, along with 4 tailpipes.
Stepping inside, one would find 3-spoke steering wheel in Dinamica microfibre with aluminium flappy paddles and sport seats in nappa leather with an ‘AMG’ badge in the front backrests.
The Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S price also includes the latest generation MBUX infotainment system with AMG-specific functions and displays, and voice control, among other features.
The most powerful coupe SUV from Mercedes-Benz for India comes with a 4.0-litre twin turbocharged V8 that puts out 612 HP and 850 Nm of torque. The 48 V EQ Boost starter alternator adds another 22 HP and 250 torques.
The internal combustion engine is connected to a 9-speed automatic gearbox that sends the motor’s power to all the wheels. The performance SUV can complete the 0-100 km/hr sprint in 3.8 seconds and hit a top speed of 280 km/hr.
Mercedes has equipped the GLE 63 S coupe with air suspension with active roll stabilisation based on the 48 V electric system and a whole host of safety features including active brake assist, blind spot assist, and 3-stage electronic stability programme.
